Zoeli Teacher Training Certification
A 12-month immersive journey of classical Pilates education, designed to build your knowledge, refine your teaching, and prepare you to lead with confidence.
Certification Details
The program begins the week of January 18, 2027 and progresses through Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced training, with three intensive Friday–Sunday workshop weekends. Breaks are built in for summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Subject to change.
Course Breakdown
Across 600 hours of lectures, demonstrations, practice teaching, observation, and private lessons, apprentices progress through the classical system in three stages:
- Beginner System – Establish precision, control, and foundational teaching skills.
- Intermediate System – Deepen biomechanics understanding, refine technique, and learn how to advance clients safely.
- Advanced System – Master the full repertoire and develop the eyes, hands, and voice of a confident, fully trained classical teacher.
Your training is guided by Master Teacher Trainers Amanda Marley, Teneice Bowie, and Zoeli Pilates senior teachers, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and exceptional mentorship throughout your journey.
Exclusive Apprentice Benefits
Unlimited Free Classes at Zoeli Pilates
Throughout your entire training, you receive free access to all group classes at Zoeli Pilates — an invaluable opportunity to embody the work, refine your technique, and stay immersed in the community.
Personalized Mentorship Through Required Privates
All apprentices must complete 50 discounted private sessions during the program. These sessions are essential for skill development, individual correction, and understanding your body as a teacher.
Program Hours
Hands-On Teaching (130 hours)
Teaching live gives you the opportunity to connect with students, assess their form, and adapt your cues in the moment. It also helps you hone your communication, timing, and problem-solving abilities — critical tools for creating an engaging and effective class. By practicing with real students, you gain valuable hands-on experience that sets you up for success as a professional instructor.
Homework (50 hours)
Here, you'll sharpen your teaching abilities by creating your own lesson plans, dive into the history of Pilates, expand your knowledge of anatomy, and receive assignments that will help you to be a better teacher.
Observation (100 hours)
During your observation time you will watch certified teachers teach clients and fill out questions that will guide you in knowing what to look for.
Self Practice (127 hours)
You will receive a weekly workout guide to know what to practice. Self-practice is crucial in understanding the work and making you a better teacher.
Required Weekly Private and Semi-Private Sessions (80 hours)
We require 50 semi-private/private lessons and 30 group classes. Private lessons have always been a fundamental part of classical Pilates programs because the more you invest in your own learning, the better teacher you'll evolve into.
Testing (15 hours)
Quizzes and live practical exams are essential assessment tools. Regular testing helps us pinpoint your strengths and identify areas for growth. It also gives us the opportunity to review content and strategies tailored to your individual needs.
Observation hours have to be done in a classical studio. Testing in-person.
All bridgers will get a schedule after their assessment.
Our Core Message
There are many paths to becoming a Pilates teacher, with countless hybrid and fusion techniques emerging in the fitness world. However, to truly grasp the essence of this practice, you must go straight to the source — the original method as Joseph Pilates intended.
At Zoeli Classical Pilates Academy, we immerse you in the authentic, classical approach, staying true to the lineage of Joseph Pilates himself. I had the incredible privilege of learning from Romana Kryzanowska, a direct protégé of Joe Pilates, as well as from esteemed teachers who worked closely alongside her. My mission is to preserve and pass down this method in its purest, most authentic form through the Zoeli Classical Pilates Training Program.
Here, you won't just learn Pilates — you'll master its comprehensive system as it was originally designed. This includes every exercise, every variation, and every piece of equipment created by Joseph Pilates. More than that, you'll gain the skills to train, challenge, and truly inspire your clients, helping them experience the transformative power of Pilates.
